The December 6th Board of Trustees meeting brought with it a changing of the President of the Board of Trustees for the Catholic Futures Foundation.
After three years as President, Paul Mendlik has made the difficult decision to step away from the Board to spend more time with his grandchildren and enjoy watching the foundation grow after his long-term commitment and dedication. Tom Sudyka, has moved from the Vice President position to President and Jeanette Wojtalewicz has been named Vice President.
As Bree Kotulak, Interim Director of the Stewardship & Development Office recently told the Archbishop’s Committee for Development at their recent December meeting,
“I absolutely must thank Paul Mendlik for his incredible service to the Catholic Futures Foundation for 30 years. Paul, your impact will be measured for years to come, and the CFF would not be where it is without your tireless leadership and incredible guidance.”
Paul’s involvement with the CFF began as a member of the Investment Finance Committee when it was the OAEF/OAPF in 2002. He served as President of the Board of Trustees since 2019. Paul was a champion for the merger of the two existing foundations into the one we know today as the Catholic Futures Foundation. He sees the foundation as a wonderful opportunity for donors, parishes, schools and ministries to establish their long term plan for sustainably funding their organizations. Paul is a member of St. Patrick Parish in Elkhorn.
Tom Sudyka also served on the Investment Finance Committee before joining the Board of Trustees. Tom, an Omaha native, went to St. Robert Bellarmine, attended high school in Colorado, and then returned to Creighton University for undergrad where he earned a BSBA in Finance and then an MBA from UNL. Tom has worked in Lincoln, Des Moines, Orlando and returned to Omaha permanently in 1999. Tom and his wife Kathryn have been very active parishioners at St. Cecilia Cathedral.
