On May 15, 2024, the Catholic Futures Foundation of Northeast Nebraska (CFF) Board of Trustees appointed Katie Sharp to a three-year term as a board member. She will also serve as a member of the CFF’s Governance Committee.

Katie Sharp is a native of Fullerton, Nebraska, where she resides with her husband Schuyler and their two children, Hudson and Lainey. They are members of St. Peter Catholic Church in Fullerton. Katie is active in their parish by serving as a member of the Parish Council and St. Ann’s Society.

Katie is an attorney with Jarecki, Sharp, & Peterson in Albion, Nebraska. Her practice is comprehensive, and she has experience in litigation, estate planning, family law and transactional law.

Katie is an excellent addition to the current Board of Trustees of the CFF. As a young professional, with an exceptional legal background, she will bring a fresh new perspective to the board,” said Tom Sudyka, Board President.

The Catholic Futures Foundation of Northeast Nebraska will celebrate 50 years of supporting Catholic parishes, schools and ministries in 2025. Along with the rest of the board, Katie will play an important role in strategic planning for the future of the CFF.

The Catholic Futures Foundation of Northeast Nebraska was originally established in 1975 as the Omaha Archdiocesan Educational Foundation (OAEF) to provide long-range supplementary funding for the continuation and development of Catholic education within the archdiocese. In 1996, the Omaha Archdiocesan Parish Foundation (OAPF) was established for the long term sustainability of parishes. In 2020, the CFF merged the two previous foundations and expanded its purpose to allow donors to establish endowments and other long-term funds in support of Catholic parishes and ministries in addition to supporting Catholic education.

Through the funds managed by the CFF, more than $38 million dollars have been distributed to Catholic parishes, schools and ministries in the northeast Nebraska community. These funds have provided needs-based high school and elementary tuition assistance, religious education grants and operational support to parishes, schools and ministries in the Archdiocese of Omaha.
